What designation is given to the 48-50 3 speed with OD single lever trans in order to order a gasket set?
I can't find anything stating it is a T-95 or T-96 but trans has #301838  IDEAL on case?
OD unit is a R10D-1A
Thanks

That's a Hudson built transmission and the 301838 is a Hudson p/n. If you want a gasket set, I'd suggest Dale Cooper or any retailer that sells Best Gaskets like Olsen's Gaskets in Port Orchard, Wa., for instance. Order by Make/Yr/Model.........unless I'm wrong.

There are several people in the Hudson Club that have significant Hudson Transmission repair experience. These folks would know where the required gaskets can be obtained.

Al Saffrahn in Arizona, Doug Wildrick in Indiana are both in the Hudson repair business and do transmissions.

OK. Somebody feel free to straighten me out on this one. Was I dead wrong? That's something I don't want to be. I don't want to be wrong, either.

Hi Frank, You are right. T-86 Borg Warner trans used in many cars of the 50's and 60's.
T-96 light duty version used by Hudson Jet, Ramblers etc.
Single lever Hudson-1941 -early 1952. Hudson built.

Not going to explain how I know this, but $3000.00 and 3 weeks at a trans shop on a 54 Hornet, ought to tell you a little.

BW's used by Studebaker, Packard, 50-70's Jaguars, & Hudsons

    OK. I'm not nuts.
Weird Al's song "Everything You Know is Wrong" has been going through my mind for the last 24 hours.
True that changes were made along the way, but still a Hudson built trans 'til mid year '51.
