Afternoon!
I am a new comer on this forum as I purchased a 1955 Hudson Hornet recently.
My name is Drew and I live just outside of Minneapolis, MN!
Greetings!

Welcome aboard!
Good to have you. I'm sure you'll find a wealth of information here.
You may also want to visit the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club website, and consider joining that Club - Members come for the cars, and stick around because of the great folks there!
We hope you enjoy your time here at the Hudson Essex Terraplane 'Open Forum' -

Welcome, Drew, pull up a chair and set down. Feel free to ask any tech questions about your "new" Hudson, and keep us posted on your adventures with it!

Welcome aboard Drew. I've been agitating these folks for over 40 years - which should tell you something - and they still let me hang around. As the logo at the top of the HET website says - "Come for the cars - "Stay for the people." It's a little hard to tell which is more important - the cars or the people. Meets are like family reunions with old cars to admire and talk about.
Hope to meet you somewhere down that Hudson road someday.
Hudsonly,
Alex Burr

Thank you everyone for the welcome!I have attached some pictures to this post. I love this old car and it runs awesome! Im going to be doing my best to restore it factory with a few exceptions (12 volt conversion, A/C upgrade, hidden radio, and electric radiator fan). Will be on here a lot as I know little about these old cars.Thank you,Drew0

You say you're upgrading the AC. Did that have factory air?

Upgrading to A/C. My goal is get a setup that is as close to factory as possible. I am told it has all the vents and boxes for it. I have not pulled the dash apart yet to see what room it has in the vent box.Technically it didn't have factory A/C. It is 6 volt and has a mechanical fan, with no radio.Drew0

I'm sure someone with a '55 with original AC would be happy to let you look at the setup, and maybe you can even pull together some original components from a Nash or Hudson to put together a complete setup. Fortunately, AMC used the "modern" system, not the earlier one with the "works" in the trunk!
I just checked, and the 1955 shop manual has a whole section on A.C. with diagrams and photos. As you may know, those registered at the H-E-T website can download manuals and other literature.

As Jon B said there is a 1955 Service Manual online in the online library that a very nice person has scanned and put there. Go to http://hetclub.org/burr/lithomepage.htm and you will find it under 1955-1957 AMC/Hudson manuals.

Thanks for all the help so far guys! I really appreciate it. So far I have just been doing my research on where to get things and how to do things before I tear anything apart.I very recently paid for a membership into the HET club. I'll go look at those manuals a lot more.Again thank you,Drew Choisser0
