Hello all. I have been following this forum for a while and have a load of questions. I purchased a 1951 Hudson Commodore 8 with its original 254 engine about 3 years ago after doing lots of looking. It is a great car!!! I gets loads of attention at all the shows, my two little girls call it their brother because it's baby blue and dove gray. I joined the local Chicago -Milwaukee HET club and the National club. I look forward to getting to know one another as we share a common interest.

Welcome aboard.  As you will find out this is a great bunch of people.  I've always maintained there is (very) thin line as to which is more important - the cars of the people.  We're very laid back and love to discuss Hudsons anytime, any place.

I personally like the step-down eights - with everybody fixated on the Hornets the eights get a tad overlooked.  But that's personal choice.  They're all great cars.
  • John is an absolute great guy! He was recently featured in an article in the Wall Street Journal, hope every got a chance to read it and see the great photos of his car collection. I really enjoy reading the tech articles. I recently found Walt Mordenti's technical articles and memorizing all the one that apply to my vehicle.

Commodare_254 - I've scanned both of Walt's tech tip books and they are in the on-line library (filed under "Other H-E-T Literature").  I'm going to scan the rest of them from the WTN's when I get this 1951 shop manual done.
