Titles

I would like to know how come people advertise cars, regardless of make and say no tittle, but easy to get. They usually want some rediculous price for the vehicle also. If titles are so easy to get, why don't they get one before trying to sell the car? Titles are a pain to get here in Nevada.

What do people usually charge for a title? I ask because I have a good title for a '51 that I parted and have tried to get the vin tag off to go along with the title but can't( I still have access to the carcass) but haven't a clue to what it's value is. I know there's a business for getting titles FOR you if you pay a fee but that varies from state to state.

    FYI
I suggest try removing the VIN Plate then advertise your Title. Ive seen them on EBay listed in the low Hundreds without a VIN Tag....
I know people that have bought a Title, punched in the Title VIN # onto a 'fabricated' aluminum tag, then made a Tracing of the Tag, created a Bill Of Sale, then got the Vehicle Registered. Registration varies State to State....

The department of Motor Vehicles here in Utah are very reasonable about titling a car. I know there are several states that do not issue titles to old cars.

I made an attempt to remove the tag back in November but broke two drill bits (cheapies) thinking they were rivets. The guy who bought the carcass tried last month to remove the vin tag for me and he busted a bit also(there are several parts still on the car that I get). I was told to try to get inside and drive them out- it's some kind on hardened nail or something to that effect. I'm not sure what the rules are here in Minnesota but if I were a betting man, I'd say they're pretty stringent.

They are twist in brads. You can pull them with a small pair of nail Nippers. Twist to the left as you pull.

I ended up with a box of "twist in" brads left over after I sold my business. Available to anyone one who wants some for the cost of postage from New Zealand
