Are these 35 parts?
Sorting through the boxes of parts that came with my 35H8 roadster project, I've come across these items that I can't identify or guess what their function is.
First up is a pair of 3.25" dia washers with a sheetmetal stamping spot welded to them.
No idea what these are, but I have 2 RH
This is a UK or OZ aftermarket fuel saver of some type, but presumably similar devices were marketed in the US. How is it supposed to work?

Bob,
The first two items are the clamps needed to hold the spare wheels in place of 6 wheel equipt cars when in the mudguards, I have a few of the bolts needed to hold those plates which then attach to the support bracket that comes off the chassis and the other end goes through the body up near the front panel between the front door and bonnet, this bracket is adjustable with a screwing action allowing the wheel to be removed.Bit hard to explain , but, if you look at any 6 wheel equipt car, you will get my drift.
The other items, I have no idea.0 -
The "Fuel saver" items usually worked on a vacuum basis, the theory being that when cruising down hill there was very high vacuum, and this sucked a lot of fuel in through the idle jet. So with this condition, the fuel save would open to the atmosphere and allow air into the manifold instead of fuel. I think they came with a can of snake oil to improve their function!0

I wonder how many valve jobs those things generated? LOL0
