  • By the way, my cars do stay in the garage during bad weather.  My '54 6D Club Sedan gets driven every day otherwise.   I'll sit and talk for hours to anyone with a genuine interest in Hudsons and acting  like they have half a brain to work with.  But the minute they tell me my car looks like a Merc or Plakard .... I'm done.

Actually , the Merc looks like a Hudson , 48 was before 49 Right?
  • G'day,

Even in Australia, its becoming rare to see pre-1940's vintage on the roads. When I was younger it would be common to see model Ts and A chugging along most week-ends. I didn't know Hudsons as a brand till I fell in love with my 36T last year. Sure I knew Essex as car, but never knew it was a Hudson. (I'm kind of concerned that I'm 52 and just now having the blindfold fall from my eyes in the past year- what other car beauties and makes are out there and I'm just not seeing them??)

I try and get the 36T out most week-ends just for a coffee or brunch at a café in a nearby suburb - 99% of people who stop and comment on my car have no idea what it is. Most think it's a European/French car and are surprised its a USA car. A few have said "Nice, Jag, Dodge, Citron, Bentley etc. - only guys 60plus seem to pick it as a Hudson or Terra
