4th of July in Santa Fe...
On
the historic plaza for our 4th of July car show in conjunction with the
annual community pancake breakfast. 7,000 or so folks came to eat
pancakes (really) and $80,000 was raised for local charities. The plaza
area is completely closed off to traffic by 6:45 a.m. We start parking
110 or so cars at 4:30 a.m and have the show in place by 6:30. It all
wraps up at 1:00 p.m.

Selling the '40 and stepping up to the '47 reminds me of my Dad. In the late 40's-early 50's we had a 1936 Chevy. We were planning a road trip to the Dayton, Ohio, area from our home in Maine (this would have been around 1948) and Dad wasn't to sure about the Chevy's making the trip. So he announced at breakfast one morning it was time for a newer car - he went out and bought a 1937 Chrysler Six!!!!! LOL

Zander: Our family car was a much-used '46 Hudson (titled in Canada as a '47) (see photo). I always wanted a coupe. I was born in '47. Otherwise, no reason for the change...

Well, it looks like a fine example. I'm sure you found a great home for the '40.0
