panhard rod bushing install
Chris Smith

I am installing new bushings in the panhard rod of my 54 Hornet. The passenger side bolt and inner bushing sleeve came apart easily but the driver side bolt and sleeve are solid on the axle housing and I did not need to put a wrench on it to remove the nut. Is that the way its made or should I even worry about soaking it in wd40 and try to loosen it up?

Nah, just drive the bolt out and pry out the old rubber.0

I ended up just leaving the driver side bolt and sleeve in place. I cleaned up the sleeve with some emery cloth, aluminum oxide blasted, then painted the rod, installed new bushings and got it back in place. A nice afternoon project.
