Local car show

I took my 51 Hornet to a local show today and won a trophy for best Orphan. There were only 3 awards given out of the 200+ cars in attendance (the other 2 were Best in Show and best modified). Pretty cool. I go every year but have never taken this particular car. This comes up at least once a year on the forum, but it really pays to get our cars out to non Hudson meets. Most of the kids knew exactly what my car was and had to explain it to their parents. I gave out a couple of cards to people that were interested in buying a Hudson and generated some interest in our favorite cars. A buddy of mine was there with his Hornet too, so he was probably a little bummed I won the trophy

Good for you, Don! I've got the distinct impression that most Hudson owners don't get out to mixed-make shows, preferring to stick to Hudson meets. More's the pity, because the less we show them, the more they'll fade from public view. But when we do drive them to non-Hudson meets, we usually discover that they're more popular than we think. And sometimes the results are downright spectacular, as you found out!
