Can't find old thread on flushing the cooling system on a 288cid
Does anyone remember this? Somewhere online there was a
forum thread about a 1920's Hudson owner with overheating issues. In
the thread they discussed pulling the cover plates off the side of the
block, cleaning and hosing out the gunk, and replacing the gaskets. All of this done
with photos as well. Does that ring a bell? I've been digging since yesterday, and cannot find it in any site I'm looking
through. Thanks,
Adam

The washer in your head has rotted out that slows the flow of water.
What is the condition of your rad???
If you pull the bottom hose, and pour water in the top, it should freely flow out the bottom. If not , your rad is plugged up.
Those two things are the common cause for over heating.0
