1938 Hudson Terraplane, Los Angeles. CA.
I want to find a nice home for a car that has been in storage for over 50 years. It is all there. The engine was put into the shop 22 years ago. I called them. It'll be ready next week.
They really do still have the engine. They are putting it back together as we speak. There is not an ounce of rust on this vehicle. That's a lie. There's a bit of rust about the size of a silver dollar in the trunk, where the rubber gasket on the trunk hood had eroded. That's it, apart from some standard surface rust that brushes away readily.
The car is in Santa Monica, California. The engine is in Venice, California.

Welcome aboard!
Good to have you. I'm sure you'll find a wealth of information here. Sounds like you're looking to sell the '38 (?), probably a good idea to have a running, functioning car - will get more for it that something that is in pieces...
You may also want to visit the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club website, and possibly consider joining that Club - Members come for the cars, and stick around because of the great folks there!
We hope you enjoy your time here at the Hudson Essex Terraplane 'Open Forum' -

Welcome, Colin.
The 1938 Terraplane is a rare bird indeed, as it was Terraplane's last year (and 1938 was a recession year, so not many cars of any make were being made!). Your car sounds like a rarity among rarities in terms of its condition.
You might want to consider advertising this in the White Triangle News (the bi-monthly magazine of the Hudson club, in case you didn't know). If you're not a Club member you can still place the ad free, by simply working through a Club member. Although this is a well patronized forum, I think there is still a larger audience at the magazine, for many Hudson club members still prefer to read "paper".
You could reach me at XXXdetailed@verizon.net (remove the XXX before sending) if you wanted to know more about advertising in the WTN for free. The deadline for next issue's ads, passed on August 1. But if you send your ad in right away, you might be able to get in under the wire.
