I am coasting along fine with the current cowl lights on my 28 roadster pickup. They look a bit like a reject from an old aftermarket trailer but they will do just fine--except, a local member just purchased a 28 Essex Roadster. Now I have to find a set of 28 cowl lights. A note or two and I have they, purchased, mailed and off to the chrome shop. Who knew that brass parts cost more to chrome? Get them back home and start the assembly of the restored parts. The 1157 light bulb sits about 1/2 inch too high and the flat lenses will not work. Do a search and find a Wagner bulb but it too is to tall. Start the search for a lenses. No luck! Stop by the local trailer shop and find a clear lenses that has a small dome to it. All is well--until I install and find I have to right side lights (who knew?) So back to the chrome shop with some design modifications and the new installation is complete. I have a big grin on my face and a big flat spot in my wallet....
