Hey Everyone,
Thought I would share some pics from our recent project that we brought back to life. Hope you enjoy.
Thanks!

Lookin' great, Scott. I take it the door or the cowl was not damaged? Are you replacing the bent brightwork with trim from the donor car or repairing the bent ones? That was a good car before, and it appears it will be again!0

Ready for the cruise in this weekend.0

Nice save. How do you decide which one to drive? Alternate?0

Looking good!
How did it happen and how long did it take?

Shows the strength built into these old cars - a new brand x would most likely have the whole front end sheared off.
Great looking repair job.

Chris - Was in an accident with the previous owner and my dad bought it damaged. We started on the car sometime in March and have had it back on the road for a couple months but just got the light ring for the passenger side back on a couple weeks ago.
Lostmind - They are both really fun to drive! The Wasp has overdrive so that's better to drive on the highway. Hornet does just fine though. That hornet is by far my favorite car. The first Hudson I ever worked on.
Ken - Yes, both of our hard work paid off. The car looks and drives great.

FYI, thanks to Ken, Quality Bumper in Dallas and my painter Joe for the help on this project.

Hi Scott - Looking good! This must have been a recent project, your dad showed me pictures when I was picking-up those fenders in WV.
Hardly surprising that the insurance company 'totaled' the car with that damage (although not what I would consider a totaled car) - parts are not the easiest to find.

That's TOM-WA's old car isn't it?0
-
Yes, it is.0

Seeing those two cars side by side really shows what a great job Hudson did to update the looks for 54.0

I notice that your Wasp does not have the additional side chrome/stainless (large plate below the centerline chrome and around the wheel) that the Hornets had. I think this cleans up the car a lot. Great looking car.....0

54 Wasps were the bottom of the ladder trim wise. They did not have the "hockey stick" side trim. The Super Wasps of '54 were the next rung up the ladder and they did have said trim

Arkie - You are correct. And if you look closely, you will see that the donor car was/is a Super Wasp.
