Hi, I am looking for a front disc brake conversion for a 1953
Hornet.

I am aware of the following sources of a brake kit

1. Matt Faust (via the forum)

2. www.abspowerbrake.com/

3. www.classicdiscbrakes.com/

Can anyone make a recommendation or share any experience of
having installed a brake kit from one of these, or other sources ?

Many thanks,

Brian.

    FYI
I recommend Matt Faust's Disc Conversion since I believe Matt used his own Hudson to perfect the System. The quality & machining of the Brackets & Hubs are excellent.

Choice #2 fit perfectly.  There were no other club member kits available when I bought it, but it worked out OK.   Used original spindle with no mods.  Bolt on.  If I had the choice, though, I would go with a club member.

Two of our chapter members installed disc brakes.
View the installation and supplier information on the
    kit in our newsletter.

. Did you get their master cylinder? I' m curious about that. Do they supply a parts cross reference? I want to match calipers front and rear.

I ended up getting the electric power booster kit which comes with a frame mount MC that fit a standard MC bracket as advertised in WTN. Not cheap. Yes, they gave me a list of replacement parts (rotors, etc) for the asking.
