Adaptor for 700R overdrive trans

I will bring a Dany Spring 700R trans adaptor for Hudson engine to All California Meet if anyone wants it. Still in the box, $700 includes new starter. We will be leaving today about 4pm. For anyone wanting to reserve it before we leave give me a call. 818 845 2945. I may be out loading the car so if I don't answer leave a message and I'll get back to you. I understand it also works with 200 overdrive trans, turbo 400, 350 trans and powerglide. I sold the 47 truck it was intended for.

    One great benefit is It's easier to find someone that can repair it!   Old HD techs are getting hard to find. Considering they quit making ours in the late fifties. If a transmission man was 21 then.. Now he is 80!

    The 700r4 is hydraulic controlled except for the lockup converter.

    It can be adapted pretty easily and there are many kits and DIY setups avail on the web.

    I myself find it easy to use the 700r4 or even the later electronic trans like the 4l60e or 4l80 since I already use the later EFI to run the engine.

    I just set up the EFI system with the computer that was designed to run the associated trans and plug everything in to my stand alone harness. it's all plug and play.

    Provided you are running 12v that is.

    I even converted an IH 392 to MPFI-multiport fuel injection with an adapter and the 4l80E transmission in a 61 IH crew cab pickup.

    Some day if I ever get caught up.....I plan to do a small turbo with MPFI and a late model auto behind a 308 in my 49. I can even do DIS-distributor less ignition. Got it on my Italian mini cooper. If it was used from the factory it can be adapted to use on most classics. It's just time and money...we all have lots of both.



    Lee, maybe keep me in mind if that adapter doesn't sell. I may just be interested for my future plans! Would need it shipped tho. I currently have the 3spd manual with OD.

    There are other kits out there, none are cheap.
