headlight switch

What is the easiest way to get the headlight switch out of a jet?. Also, if switch is bad, are they available? Thanks

Ken,The instructions you gave are exactly what John needs to do. However, I may need  correct a bit of what you said. The long shaft headlight switch was used on stepdowns from 1948-1953. The short length shaft was used on the 53-4 Jets and the 1954 stepdown  Hudsons as well.  Unlike the starter button , Cole Hersee made all the headlight switches as an OEM.                                                         John, if you need your switch repaired I can do that. Also if you need another one ,I have those as well.
