Step down starter repair

On a '50 Super Six, the starter spins, but does not engage. I think it would be the Bendix. Can any member here give some insight, or how/where to repair and get replacement parts? Thanks in advance!

Any decent starter-generator-alternator shop can do it.  Often the trouble you describe is due to sticky stuff on the starter shaft, which is typically caused by someone putting oil or grease on it.  It's supposed to be dry so it won't pick up crud on the spiral shaft.
