57 Hornet - Master Brake/Booster and Brake Light Switch - HELP please :)

Hello All! I have hit a wall on my 57 Hornet with the brake light switch. I purchased the Harley switch so I can use the DOT5 synthetic fluid in the master. Below is a pic of the rebuilt master/booster on the car. You can see the banjo fitting where the brake line should fit back into. I removed the banjo in the second pic to better explain my dilemma. The top right is the brake light switch (which I understand should attach directly to the master cylinder where the lines connect). The bottom right is a new brake line and fitting. The threads on the brake line fit perfectly in the banjo fitting. The threads and size of the brake light switch are smaller and don't fit. My questions please:

1. Is this where I should be trying to hook up the brake light switch?
2. If yes, how? Do I need a banjo fitting with two female parts to have one for the brake line and one for the brake light switch?

I have a similar message out to my 57 helpful friends, but figured it never hurts to put on the forum for others to learn from.

I'm a bit lost and I'm hoping for a simple fix...thanks all! Enjoy the day!

Mike

My 54 Hudson has power brakes and uses a banjo fitting with two "female parts".  Where is the current brake light switch located?

  • Paul Shuster has the two-female banjo fitting and that should do the trick. I think I'm good to go on this one. Thanks much.
