Doing the Doors
My upholsterer is busy cutting new door cards and has many questions for me. For one, he asked if the interior door pulls had metal inserts (cups) screwed to the door pull bracket. On the two examples I have it appears the pocket is lined with vinyl but no metal cup sits inside. There is a steel support under the vinyl that maintains the shape of the pocket. Is this your understanding, or should your hand touch metal when you pull the door closed?
The second question I have is in re to the inner door cranks/handles, which escutcheon goes where? One is offset, another is toothed, another has a smooth base. Please teach me and my upholsterer how these are arranged. I did not take enough pics at disassembly time!
