Look at the Crazy 36 Terraplane - bit pricey, kinda cool though!

Strange that it got all the way over here, from Australia!  Yes, they made them for a number of years in Oz!

It would be interesting to know how and why that ute ended up in Montana

If anyone does take it up as a project, making it into a LHD car is dead easy, its a bolt up job using the relevant bits from a dead 36T. When the chassis were stamped out, all the required holes for both LHD and RHD versions were included, so LHD steering box bolt holes, pedal bolt holes etc are already there.

Good luck to the seller with that asking price.

Indeed ; what a journey it must have had.

Nice looking car and one I'd like but I have to agree about the price. Optimistic indeed
  • Bob, actually Hudson had the holes drilled out on opposite sides of the frame even during the stepdown era.Steering boxes are a different problem though.

One of the big decisions that I had to make when my English Built Hudson was apart was where would the steering wheel go.  After some thought (about four days of back and forth) I went with the Right Side.  It started that way, and it looks more natural that way.  All of the bolt holes were there as well as floor holes to go with either side.  I am glad that the car has the steering wheel on the RIGHT side.

Right (no pun intended) decision of course Brownie.

As you say it started that way so to keep it a RHD was indeed the best way to go

IMO, someone brought it to the U.S. years ago, most likely as a highly thought-of collectible vehicle.  Somehow, during the years, it found it's way to a field with other neglected and abandoned vehicles.  A sad state for something that was obviously someone's treasure at one time.

Looks like a lot is missing, however from the pictures the major components are there.  Oddly enough, they don't show any pictures of it from the rear - which most likely means that the tailgate is probably missing, and the bed is either in sad shape or worse.

Pricing it at $8500 doesn't help its chances any either...
