My very first car was a 1934 Hudson Terraplane 3 window coupe. It was the car I bought with my dad at 14 using paper route money from when I was 10. I cringe when I look back at what happened to it. It became a NASCAR circle track race car. It was very competitive with the Ford Flatheads but when the small block Chevys came along it was doomed to mid-pack so it was sold. I still have the original grill.... unrestored. Been moving it around the shop for 45 years now. If someone needs one, let me know. If someone has the rest of the car, let me know that too. Now have a Nostalgia Drag car. 1937 Fiat body (glass) on a tube chassis with a Stromberg carbureted Ford Flathead engine and am a Founding Member of the East Coast Flathead Racers. Hence, the "Fiatracer" moniker. Looking forward to reading on-line posts and hearing from HET Club members.

    Welcome aboard!

Good to have you.  I'm sure you'll find a wealth of information here.

You may also want to visit the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club website, and consider joining that Club - Members come for the cars, and stick around because of the great folks there!

We hope you enjoy your time here at the Hudson Essex Terraplane 'Open Forum'

Hi, fiatracer, welcome to the forum!  Sounds like some good memories!  Yes, I'm sure that someone could use that grille.  If they don't step forward here on the Open Forum, you might want to list it in the H-E-T Club magazine, the White Triangle News.  I, or any current Club members, would be glad to assist you in listing the grille in the classified ads, at no cost to you.  Just let us know.  (My e-mail address is XXXdetailed@verizon.net, delete the three X's before sending).

Welcome Fiatracer Would love to see some pics of your Fiat. I'll bet a Hudson would make it go too,but packaging might be a problem. Racing flatheads for me was my sons jr dragster. Surely the motorheads here will enjoy a look at this "trophy" camshaft from our Briggs and Stratton. Spinning those little suckers 9500+ rpm had its consequences. You hafta to love that camshaft lobe tho.
