Hudson front spindle ID question

The casting # is 164712R and 164713L for the pair. The closest I can get with the
part number is out of the 40-42 parts book with
164710 for RH and 164711 For LH
Can I assume these are 40-42 spindles?
  The later 46-47 book gives a 166 series number.
These are NOS pair from the parts lot I bought.

Kerry, the manufacturer's casting numbers were often just one or two digits away from Hudson's part number, so your assumption is likely correct.  I'm surprised that the 46-47s would be different.  Must've been a pretty minor change.  Hudson interchange manual says to use the 46 and later ones as replacements for the '42s.

Num Parts interchangability records says 164710 is Support Assy-Strg Spindle-RH (Use 166274)

164711 is Support Assy-Strg Spindle-LH (Use 166275)
