Would like to post a wanted ad.  Name is Rick Chaplin "alumcantandthd"  If I would try to explain what all that means, they wouldn't allow me on here!

So all I'll say, I picked up pop bottles along the road when I was a kid in the '50's.  Sold 'em for 3 cents and used that $ to pay my way into a public swimming pool in the next town.  Bettern' than swimming in the creek, where Farmer Chawerbaccy's cows were 'doin their business' in the same creek up around the bend.

Graduated to 'loom-num' cans later in life.  Place I sold to (that didn't cheat me) got closed down.  So, I never sold for 8 years.  Horded and mashed, mashed and horded.  Wound up with 2 and a 1/4 tons of mashed cans.  (roughtly a 108,000 cans)  Cashed 'em all in and bought a Harley Davidson!  That is what the "hd" stands for.

So, the "TandT" you'll just have to use your imagination.  Unless the head whoop-de-do doesn't think it's too 'adult', then I'll tell that story.

What else do you wanna' know, so I can post?

No.  This is not a place to post 'off-topic' advertisements, etc., unless they pertain directly to Hudson, Essex or Terraplane vehicles.

The primary and only purpose of this forum is to talk 'Hudson' automobiles - period. 

There are other venues on the 'world wide web', where you can post your advertisements...

Whoa!  I was wanting to post a wanted ad for a Hudson steering box.  Nothing 'off topic'  How did I come across giving you that idea?!

No wonder I'm "closed".  Pissed off the head dude!  Aw, I guess if one doesn't know the full use of these infernal, new fangled, 'puter machines, one can come across the wrong way,,,,,,,,,,,,.  Didn't intend that at all. 

No problem.  I'll get my buddy out in Iowa who is a personal friend with a member (he's the one who suggested I get on this site in the first place) on here to post the ad for me.

Might have been a lot better had you clearly stated your intention upfront, rather than going into this whole side trip on aluminum cans!  I figured you were going to post an ad for some get rich quick scheme where people could make millions by collecting cans.  Or something to that effect. We have had hundreds of people applying to be members here, whose only apparent purpose was to use this forum as a means of promoting various products, websites, etc.  Nothing to do with Hudson cars.

alumcantandthd - We get a LOT of SPAMMERS.  Their sole purpose is to post GARBAGE to our forum.  I have 2000+ applications that have been denied, their email addresses & IP Addresses blocked (due posting SPAM, hacking, and multiple application attempts). Prior to that, I 'removed' over 23,000 SPAM accounts that had been created under the previous administration.

YOUR account, email address and IP Address was not blocked or banned.  I was not 'convinced' that your motives were of a negative nature, so I left the account & action(s), open - so that you could respond.

My apologies for the initial 'denial', however if you had stated your objective(s) more clearly - and directly, you would now be posting your request for your part (as 'Jon B' indicates).

Your account has now been elevated to that of 'Member'.  You should be able to create threads, post comments, and send PMs, to your heart's content.
