I am looking for a decent plastic emblem that fits in to the trunk hand pull where the trunk lock goes.
How do I paint the front grill emblem.  Thanks  Ray

Not sure what year you're looking for, but the Eshelmans make a lot of repro Hudson plastic emblems.

Reproductions of the red stepdown grille emblem have been available since 1980 when K-GAP first did them and the trunk lift handle plastic was done about 2 years later.

    Ray,

A lot of the items you are looking can be found in the White Triangle news, listed under Member Products and Services.

Another good reason to join the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club.

I don't know the current state of vacuum plating availability in the US.   The last ones done while I was still a partner in K-GAP in the late '80 were by one of 2 or 3 vacuum platers left in the US.  The problem was that their minimum production run was 100,000 pieces.  The only way to get our parts done was to wait for them to have down time or changeovers between big orders when they would take care of some "little guys" at higher prices for all the trouble "we" were.   The process requires a silicone "mask" be placed into each part by hand so that the "chrome" only go in the specific areas desired.
K-GAP's plastic medallions (not the lenses) were patterned and produced by a molding company in Westminster, CO called Plastic Parts Duplicators.  They got really tired of our small orders and high quality demands and showed us the door and they went on to produce nothing but Ford reproductions which were very high volume and thus very lucrative.   And THAT is the problem with the independent cars like Hudson - no volume to begin to make reproductions worthwhile.   Be grateful for the handful of suppliers working for all y'all !   They do it out of passion for the vehicles.
