Arnold Halberson of Minnesota and Hudson parts
Last fall Arnold posted on this site that he had a lot of Hudson trim parts for sale. I contacted him in November and agreed to send him $400 USP MO for three pieces. After many phone calls he sent me one. I've been in touch with him since several times about the other two pieces and he promising me he would get to them and send them. I called him earlier this spring again and he said he had all the stuff and again, would send it. Nothing has happened. I've called him three times in three days and now he doesn't even respond. I'm out $300. Does anyone know him, maybe tell him to get going and either send me the stuff or refund $300.

Not too sure how it works in the USA but here in Australia you can go to the "small claims court" to resolve this issue. You need to send him a "letter of demand" then after he fails to respond have him charged to appear in court. They usually shit themselves when the letter appears - I'm sure you'd have similar options available in the USA?

About the same time frame I answered the same ad. Same promise, even offered to return my money. I'm only out $50 for fender trim. But I tend to be optimistic so there may still be some hope the man will honor his word.
If you do not live near him, scratch Arnold as a source for Hudson parts. I have.

Similar laws in U.S. Only difficulty is traveling 2500 miles to attend court from my location.. If no show then new court date is set. So on and so on. Been there done that years ago for a mild fender bender hit and run. Not worth the hassle or expense. After three court dates and no shows I was already out repair cost, Three days off from work and gas for three 100 mile round trips to court. No satisfaction.

I believe his name is Halvorson? I've bought parts from him with no problems. I actually drove up to his place and looked over some parts he had...he's about and hour and a half from where I live. That's closer than the gentleman in St. Paul. I'll try to contact him today and if he has the parts, I can get them and send them from my place. I have to think he's not doing well as he wasn't a picture of health last time I saw him. Terry0

I have purchased a number of parts from him. It takes him a long time to get to it, but he has come thru with some decent parts for my 53coupe project. He was very sick this past winter and in hospital for quite a while. He now accepts PayPal for parts payments.
We have become hudson buddies I will call Him and alert him about you guys being upset.
Like I said he is slow but I don't think he's a thief..0 -
I'm not upset. I was well aware of Arnolds health and hospitalization and am waiting for his health to improve before expecting my parts. With the cold winter and snow he was having I wouldn't expect a healthy person to dig thru the snow for some part. He had already tried sending me the parts but the post office mangled them so badly they didn't try to deliver them to me but just sent them back to him. He was gracious and man enough to call me about that and kept calling me from the hospital to apologize for not replacing them sooner. I told him not to worry about the parts for now and concentrated on getting well.
Terry says he will be going to see him for me and I because I had not heard from Arnold for some time I was concerned about his health asked Terry to give Arnold my best wishes for his recovery.
When you do talk to him please let him know I am concerned for his health and a rapid recovery.

Just heard a message on my phone from Arnold. He plans sending me the parts tomorrow. I will give him a call in the morning to see how he is feeling.

I remember having a lot of correspondence with Arnie decades ago. He loved Jets as well as his overall fondness of all things Hudson. Please say hello from Wayne Graefen and wish him well. Thanks.

I received a call from Arnold this morning. I'm glad to report he is home from hospital doing better. He told me he still has some snow and is doing a little better and has started trying to fill orders. He will try to have my fender molding and molding retainer received in two weeks.

He called yesterday and was able to remove one part, but the other got damaged, I'm not surprised, very delicate piece. He will refund the remainder. I hope all is well with him and he is able to get me the piece.0
