Back Seat 35 Terraplane

Hi All,
I have the back seat out of my 35 Terraplane.  It's in rough shape from the previous residents when stored in my father-in-laws barn.  Anyway, the backing broad looks to be a heavy fiber or cardboard.  Any suggestions on replacement material for this backing board?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Tom

Tom, isn't this the same as the black waterproof backing board that used to go in the doors?   If so, that stuff is still available, possibly from upholsterers or Restoration Specialties

    Hello All,
Does the back seat hang over the edge of the floor were it curves up or does it sit on top of the edge.  Is there a piece missing from my car that secures the seat in place?  Not sure what the bracket on the top does?  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Tom,

I have attached three photos showing the back seat in my 35T. While it may be difficult to see in my photos, my back seat has a metal frame that goes directly behind the bracket you can see in both our photos. That bracket is what keeps the seat from moving forward. You have to lift the seat up to get the frame over the bracket to remove the seat.

    Thanks Mike,
I wasn't pulling the seat forward enough for the seat frame to drop down on the bracket on the floor.  Got it now.
