I recently inherited a 1946 Hudson Pick Up from my late grandfather, and was hoping people would be interesting in giving me more information about it! I'm most likely looking to sell, as I do not have the mechanical knowledge or funds to keep a classic car in shape. I do know a bit about the car. Trust me, I'm not completely hopeless. It has a 1968 Chevy 327 small block in it, with a Chevy Auto 700 R4 Overdrive transmission. He also put some beefy power disc brakes on the front.  I'm hoping the money will help get me though some grad school!

Here is a simple album of the truck. I just walked out to my garage and snapped some pictures with the iPhone. Looks pretty good for not getting her all dressed up!

Edit: Just read the "No Links" clause. Message me for details!

Welcome aboard, K Benton!  We have plenty of pickup owners here at the forum, as well as in the H-E-T Club, and they'll be glad to help you with whatever you need.  Possibly we can suggest some places for you to advertise it.  Sorry you aren't in a position to hold onto it, but education comes first.

Now that you've "passed the test" by proving that you're not a spammer (by writing this little essay) you are granted full permissions here, and you can post links to the photos. I have moved your message out to the "Hudsons" area of the forum.  Please note that you can post your messages in a variety of categories (see left side of screen).

Some day when you're through grad school and making a million a year, maybe you can go out and buy a nice Hudson!
  • Sounds similar to my 46 pickup I bought few monthsback. Mine has a Cadillac 305 or 350 small block in it and heavily modified. Good luck with the sale

Haha! I've honestly loved having it the past 6 months. I've driven it around town on two or three different weekends since he passed. Sort of my way of "honoring" him. Maybe put about 50-75 miles in during the past 6 months. It runs phenomenal, and my grandpa prided himself on building "daily drivers". But since I don't have the knowledge to fix up anything, I was hoping to get it to someone who loves Hudsons as much as my grandpa did while it's still in great shape. I just did an oil change and spark plug/wire change with my neighbor to provide a little maintenance. She sounds beautiful!

The 'no links' is for those confirming membership only.  We get a lot of SPAMMERS, who want nothing more than to have our members 'visit' their virus and malware infected websites...

Now that you are a member, feel free to post pictures, etc.

If you have an album stored somewhere on the internet, go ahead and post a link to the album here as well.

    Welcome aboard!

  • SuperDave, for the right price, it can be! :p

54SuperWasp, he was indeed a "Kool Grandpa". Tons and Tons of stories about racing old dirt tracks around Southern California.

Very Nice looking truck! Probably out of my $ range. You should get a nice price.

  • Hey Don,

I'm hoping to sell it for a fair price, but I do know it's in good shape other than being a little dirty, and that it's a fairly rare truck.
