    Given the choice of using one of these old "hub knockers" or using two legs of a three legged drum puller suitable to all Hudsons through '54, I will continue to use the drum puller so as not to damage parts.

    I think I've read that it's absolutely not recommended to use this
    "puller", as striking it with a heavy hammer could fracture the block at
    the center of the differential, that fits between the inner ends of
    both axles.  If I'm wrong, somebody, please correct me.

    Here is the original "factory" puller.  Same principal and the 3-leg puller but a lot simpler because it was made especially for the Hudson drum, and wasn't a "universal fit" which entailed a lot of complications.
