New 41 Coupe owner! Looking for info!
Hello! First off, thanks for hosting and posting all the info you guys have here. I don't know a whole lot about Hudsons yet, but it's great to see somewhere that info about these cars is kept. Awesome to find actually.
I'm picking up a 41 Hudson Coupe.
I'm looking for info about the car, parts availability, etc. Pretty much anything I can find. I've looked for one for awhile now because I love the style and lines.
Any advice, info, etc. would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

welcome aboard! What is your location? I would advise you to join the HET national club and see if there is a local chapter you could hook up with. What are your plans for the 41?

Welcome to the Forum! Be advised that there is a hood and right and left fenders (all used) on Ebay at this moment. I cannot attest to the condition of these, and maybe you don't need them. But depending on whether you have major damage or rust-out, and the condition of the Ebay sheet metal, one of these might make more economic sense than spending time or money fixing yours!

Thanks Jon B. Will check them out. The rear fenders are a bit pinged up. I do metal work for a living and can fix them, but if I can replace with something in better shape it's a no brainer!
KDancy- she runs and stops at the moment. I'm gonna a get to doing some body work and tune up type stuff and then decide which way to go with it.0 -
Also, does anyone know the interchange on fenders? 40/41 interchange only?
I am gonna need all the dash gauges, the door locks, and a bunch of other smalls.
I'm gonna be making new floor pans too. The pans in this car are church pans. (Holy. Get it?)0 -
Its a short wheelbase car like mine so that may effect the interchange of sheetmetal. I think there was a post on this not too long ago.

front fenders are 1940 to 1941 all models the same only. rear fenders are 1941 only. front fenders on ebay are welded up 1946 to 47 front fenders to fit a 1941. would try to find bettter set. got a complete dash cut out of a 41 with all gauges still installed. any other parts you need I might have. got a few 41's myself.0

Bellbigdawg- what would you need for the dash and gauges? That's the first thing I'm addressing because they are all shattered.0

Just another word on parts: there are many Hudson vendors of used parts across the country and many of them do not necessarily spend time at the Forum. So, if you get down to some hard to find parts, you might want to send e-mails to these people, carefully explaining exactly what you need. Many if not most of them are in the HET club and advertise periodically in the magazine. Also, there are a number of Hudson meets (including flea markets) held across the country -- at national, regional and local meets -- so if you're lucky enough to live near one, they may worth your while to attend. If you've joined the HET you will know all this of course, but I'm not sure of your status and thought I'd fill you in. We Hudson owners have had to be MUCH more resourceful than the average Ford or Chevy owner, when it comes to finding parts!

Doc, that sure looks good! Would be a nice one to do a complete restoration on. Not many stock ones left.0
