Passing of Glenn Hartong, of Maryland
The H-E-T Club lost a longtime member on Friday, June 19 when Glenn Hartong, of Columbia, Md., passed away at the age of 84. Glenn was born in Oregon, grew up in Iowa. In 1956 he married Edith Gwendolyn Young in Illinois, and the couple moved to Maryland in 1961.
Glenn was a member of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club for 45 years. The Hartongs were founding members of the Chesapeake Bay Chapter in 1978 and were very active in the group over the years. He owned and restored a 1949 Hudson Pick Up, a 1954 Hudson Hornet, a 1949 Hudson Commodore and a 1952 Hudson Club Coupe
He was also a passionate antique radio buff and a founding member of the Mid Atlantic Antique Radio Club in 1984.
