Temp gage

After my drive today the temp gage read "HOT." So as is my custom, when I pulled into the shop I put the heat gun on it and it read 175 d--right where I think my 308 should be.  So, now I think it is time to change the sensor in the head.  I expect that this is the item that has a mind of its own.  Wondering what you folks are using as a replacement?  I am using the 6volt system. I expect that my NAPA shop will have one, if not the stock one, an acceptable replacement?

Guaranteed Parts #TSU-4.  Your guy at NAPA should be able to convert this number to his.

My NAPA friend ordered me a TSU-4 sending unit.  Should have it in a few days.  He also told me that there were available Hudson units for the 1955 and 1956 Hudson's.  I expect that they are the same?  But, I have to ask what is the difference between a 54 308 block and a 55/56 308 block.  Were the 55/56 Hudson's six volt?

They didn't have '57 Hudsons in OZ.  The Wicked Witch would never allow such foolishness.

My father purchased a brand new 1958 Hudson Rambler here in Australia, he had it for 10 years before he updated to a 1967 Rambler American, I purchased the 1958 off him in 1967 for $900.00 we drove it for another 10 years then sold it again for the $900.00 that  I paid Dad for it. Never lost one cent on the deal.
