Aaaaaaaarghhh! I smashed it!

After carefully removing, dismantling, derusting, painting, and re-assembling the '38 H8 tail light, the housing slipped,  bounced off my knee, and  hit the concrete, to the side of the  blanket I had carefully laid down. The lens is broken into five pieces, which I have managed to super-glue back together.   Eshelmans do not have this lens, it appears to be a one-off Hudson  8 tail light for 1938.   Can anyone help with a replacement please? I have  grovelled to the owner, pleading forgiveness.

Mike Whitehead from Michigan had one . I sold it to him quite a while ago.

Look in the current roster and see if he is listed.

Not sure if he participates in forums.

    Geoff,

What does it look like? Ive collected some '30's Hudson lens and may have one and dont know it because have '37's. Does it have a Duck tail or say Hudson?

I may not have one, but Clear 'Aquarium Ahesive' available at Pets Mart will adhere the pieces together far better then Super Glue until you find a replacement. (I know because of similar experience)....

I HAVE seen them on Ebay. They do pop up once in awhile.  Be of good cheer!

Here's a photo of a '38 with the lights.  They resemble something you'd find on an amphibian.

Another of my many mottos: If you want it dropped on the floor, just hand it to me.

No Ken, that is for a Terraplane.   The correct lens is marked "CAS".  Thanks for the tip on repair Pete.  Frank, I have just discovered another  corollary to Murphy's Law,  - "A dropped part will  always land on the hardest surface, at the correct angle to smash.  "  Also know as the law of selective gravitation.
