While looking at the vacuum advance on the 49 262 engine I removed from my 47 PU, to see if its vacuum advance would work on my 308 distributor, there was the right angle fitting just like the MPM photo on the end of the 262 vacuum advance that the vacuum line attaches. At least the 49 262 distributor vacuum advances had the right angle fitting. So the photo with the right angle fitting in my 52 Mechanical Procedure Manual must be a photo of a early 262 vacuum advance engine and not of one on a 308 engine.
Is it possible the right angle fitting is a one year only item for the 262?
