Mystery Oil Fitting

Attached are two pics of a fitting that I think came from a eight cylinder engine. Perhaps pre stepdown. It is similar but different from the one on my 49 eight. Can anyone identify it and does anyone need it? It's been in my plumbing junk box for over 40 years.

To be honest, I've never seen one like that before. I can only guess that its an earlier version (pre '30) of the  one I'm familiar with. In looking at the '30-'36 parts book, it appears that there are a few variations but most cross to the 301547 (up to the last eights of '52) so I'm guessing the one you have is either for a Duesenburg or it's an earlier Hudson/Essex item.

    Certainly, Geoffrey knows.
