Introducing myself

Hello fellow HET Forum Members.  I am Michael C, living in the lovely little town of Berthoud Colorado and proud new owner of a 1937 Terraplane Coupe.   I consider myself semi-retired, and have been looking for a Terraplane for awhile as a project car.  The one I found is just a roller, but the body and frame are in solid shape.  It came out of a 'barn' where it was sitting since 1971 and was in the process of being restored but then forgotten.  I've already got the engine components at a rebuilder and after overcoming that hurdle I will be taking my time reassembling into a runner.  In any event, I look forward to interacting with you folks as the process unfolds.

Cheers!

Michael C (a.k.a. 'screename', Freebitz)

Welcome, Michael! There are a lot of us '37 Terraplane owners out here, so ask as many questions as you like.

There are Hudson club chapters all over the country, though I'm not sure where the "center of activity" is for the one in Colorado.

This year's National Meet is in Colorado Springs August 11-15 (I believe).  Check the events calendar at the H-E-T website http://www.hetclub.org/ and you may find some local ones as well.
  • Excellent! Thanks for the information.

    Michael,

If you want to gain first hand knowledge and meet others who own Terraplanes, then you won't want to miss the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club International Meet in Colorado Springs, August 10-15.  Send me your snail mail address and I will get the current issue of the White Triangle News, the award winning publication of the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club.  It will have all of the information about the meet in Colorado Springs next month.  The national meet is being put on by the members of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the club (Colorado Members).

You won't regret going!  Email me your mailing address and I get the information in the mail ASAP.  XXXForkner@aol.com (delete the XXX)

    Regards,

  • Thanks John,

Email sent.  Yes I might take a look at that meet depending on business schedule, etc.
