Hello,

I've been playing with Hudson's in Australia on and off for about 40 years and last year completed my first restoration of a 39 112. I'm now working on a 46 Commodore 8. These are Australian bodies and differ more than you might think to the US bodies so it can be a challenge to find parts out here now. It's all part of the fun. (So they tell me).

Glad to participate.

    Hi Glenn,

Welcome to the "old" side of the forum! I won't put the usual spiel in about the club because you already know about it :)

Hi Glenn - Good to see that you were able to 'make it'.  Welcome aboard!

As you experienced, there are 'issues' with Hotmail on this site, so the most expedient option (advise) is to use a different email account.

Would like to see some pictures of both your '39 112, and your current project.

    Regards -

    Hi Huddy42,

Yes. You knew Rex and I believe it was you (if I decode your username correctly), who helped me out with the 39's front spring pivot bolts.

Thank you. It sits on the road very nicely now.

  • Hi Rick,

Here are some pics of the 39 112 completed but still awaiting the hub caps final painting along with a pic taken before restoration where it all began about 4-5 years ago.

The 46 is now in the process of tear down and getting all the bits together and restored.

  • Thank you everyone very much for your kind words. Off course, I see all the flaws but it's great to get behind the wheel of it again and even after almost 40 years, I am still ok on the gears. That box soon lets you know if you're not doing it right!

Les, I do need some grill parts. Not sure if you have any centre emblem housings. Mine is on the verge of unrecoverable. Also need restorable guard park light spears although I suspect these are pretty hard to find. They had a lot of stainless so I'm going through it all to see if anything is missing or un-usable. Until I get the motor and gearbox out, I'm not sure where I am at with it. The motor was done up years ago and I'm not going to turn it over until I get the head to see what the bores look like. It was pickled in oil years ago so fingers crossed.

    Thanks,

    Glenn

    'G'day Glen,

Have most of the necessary grill parts, park light spears are like hens teeth, may have the emblem housing.?

    Keep in touch.
