I'm from Denver so I was fortunate enough to have a short drive. I went yesterday and today. It was a pretty good turnout.0

I made the short trip down from Denver today also. This was my first chance (and maybe last chance) to see a National meet. I was blown away with the amount of beautiful cars, everything from the absolutely pristine, to some, still with the bugs on the front bumper and hood, obviously the result of making the trip across the plains (or mountains) to get here. What a delight.I cornered a very busy Linden Welle (president of the local HET club) just long enough to congratulate him on what is a great turnout, even though many cars were out on a local tour.Walking around and looking at the beauties, I bumped into many folks, all happy to share stories about where they were from, their National meet history and (always) the connection with their Hudsons. Very friendly, and much more enlightening than I had imagined.I had to retreat back home to absorb it all. I plan to revisit Friday...k0

Thank you very much for sharing the photos. That helps to see what is going on after having to cancel our reservations for this National.
Thanks again,

Heres a few pics of the meet. The pic of the folks at the round tables was prep for the ice cream social.I'll try to send some more pics tomorow.Rob0

Thank you Rob.
Looking forward to more pictures. Love seeing the cars and I even recognize some of the members. Looks like a nice overcast day for ice cream social. Wish we were there, I like ice cream.

I see that '39 in bsatocker's photo, that was recently featured on that TV show, being restored. I think I see the owner, "Mike", in the background of Rob's recent photos of the ice cream social.

Thanks for all the pics!! This is great motivation! I wanted to come, but couldn't fit it in my schedule. I hope to come to many more in the future once my pickup is finished! Thanks for the picture of the red 42 pickup! I have heard about this one from the Eshelmans in Idaho! It's the only other 42 SWB pickup I know of! Hope you all are enjoying your time there!0

Rob,
I'd like to find out more about the blue stepdown with the turbocharged engine. Any way to get in touch with the owner?

Rob
You take great pictures. There are a lot of beautiful cars there.
Tables and chairs in the parking lot. What a great idea. A place to set, share tall tales and rest awhile.
The turbo power engine with 232 head is interesting. I wonder what size engine and who it belongs to.
The two tone 46 Hudson Coupe caught my eye.
I noticed a few had problems backing up between the line. ha ha
Thank you Rob for making it possible for the rest of us to see what is going on.
Have a enjoyable time.

The 46 2tone coupe is very well done and is running a Chevy driveline. I believe the owner told me the engine was a 400 small block. The interior is equally nice with "Hudson" stitched into the seat upholstery. I believe the owner is from Kansas.
The turbo engine is a 308 with a 232 head.0 -
I talked to Russell Chilton and found out that his Black and Red 52 Hornet Convertible had an engine fire about 200 miles from his home while on the way to the meet. He got the car back to his place and then he and his family then drove to the meet in his truck. He said he will bring the Convertible to the Chatanooga national next year.Kerry I didn't talk to the guy with the super charged stepdown but the ID tag near his car reads " Dave Coleman, Summit Point WV"Tim, Fred and I plan to leave Cour d Alene the morning of Aug 19th. Will you be home then? If so we might be able to arrive at your place that afternoon.Rob0

I spoke with Dave about the turbo setup a couple times. It had the larger (NOS) Ray Jay turbo on it and was running a SU carb. He drove it out from WV. He does have some carb heating issues and runs a bilge blower fan and hose to blow cool outside air on the bottom of the carb.
Naturally i suggested we discuss an EFI option for him that would cure all his carb concerns once and for all.
Unfortuantely I had a prior commitment to be at the IH Nationals in Ohio so I could only stay till thursday and had to fly out.
I had a great time and really enjoyed the discussions at the EFI seminars.
The HET members in person were even better then they are online. Had a great time meeting some of those I have talked with on here.
Thanks to Bill for inviting me to the Nationals to give the seminars.

Bill, did you tape your seminar? I'd like to hear it.
Rob, thanks for the info!0 -
Kdancy, it's possible John Fromm (aka video John) may have videotaped it as he does tape most of the seminars at National meets. If he has then it will be available on DVD a couple months down the road.0
