Since this appears to be a Wasp,  would the Hornet long wheelbase chassis have been considered the 3/4 ton "Big Boy".    LOL

I tried copying ad twice but neither time the pictures would show up. Here is another ad I think is the same truck. It looks to be the same truck that has been for sale before for $21,950 now $19,950.. Maybe the link will show the 53 Hudson PU. It is a good looking truck.

Not a Hudson built truck...maybe a shop truck - Hudson dealers were encouraged via factory literature to
"Create" these trucks. In 1974 I traded for a 51 S6 coupe made into a pickup. Very similar to the Wasp 4 door variant.
  • I'd own it!

Has been 'for sale' for at least 6-8 years, on several websites.  Pricing has come down over the years - when I first saw it, it was in the high 20s - low 30's.  Owner/seller still claims that it is factory-built, etc., although the SN clearly traces back to a sedan.  With all the facts provided over the years, it is amazing that they still 'push' those claims of 'factory truck' and 'prototype'...

There are quite a few of these around, some done better than others - and a handful that really look nice.

Would Hudson have used a Dodge pick up bed and tail gate?

It's not likely, and besides, if you will look at the "B" piller on the cab, you will be able to make out a medallion that was not used until the 1955 Hashes we released  -  definitely a "built" unit by someone well after Hudson closed it's doors in Detroit !

    Is that a '52 grill with a '53 hood?
