find timming marks on cranks gear

ok  removed timming  gear  cover    found  mark on  cam gear  but  cant find  mark on  crank  gear. I  tried   counting off   7  links  and still  cant  find  it . I  am  going to  replace  chain  with   one  from  21 st century  Hudson .  has  anyone  else  ever ran  into  this   ?  thanks   Andrew  ill  send  a   picture  also

the reason you can't see the mark is that it's hidden by the seal wiper ring. Take it off.

It's a circle about 4 teeth to the right of the keyway.

Looks like this thing is out of time by a couple of teeth.

Ok got it thanks I thought I was losing my vision starring at it trying to make it appear didn't. Even think to remove seal. Duh!!
