  • Rocket,

the pictures are in the format i.e. filename.bmp which can be opened by the Microsoft application "paint" once opened save the file as filename.jpeg which is the common picture file used now days.

bmps are a full picture file and ipegs are the same file stripped down - i.e. vinyl music records have a rich sound and the cd version is the same music but stripped by 2/3rds so that you can fit more.

    Ken has good advice.

But even if the photos were gone from your computer entirely, are they not on your friend's computer?  Could he not simply re-send them to you?

Thanks Ken an Jon B I will have my friend see what he can do with this the problem is that we did this on my old work computer we took the pictures off of the ebay auction and sent them to me in an email  just so I would have them they opened just fine when I opened my email its  when we tried to put them from my email on to the new  computer desk top I have at work so I can put the car on ebay that every thing went wrong I lost the email he sent me and we could not find it at all so we took the picture file from the desk top and sent me another email that's when they came back two of them were big and the rest were very small Tom

If you originally took them off the internet and saved them, they may not have had very good resolution anyway.  Quite often the photographs shown on the internet are of low resolution (they don't have to be super-clear in order to look good on the internet but if you try to print them out, they're awful).
