O-rings and oil pan gasket
I am reinstalling the dipper tray and oil pan on my 1940 Splasher engine. I ordered the gaskets from Olson's and along with the gaskets came a small O-ring. When I removed the pan and dipper tray I did not see an O-ring or the remnants of an O-ring. There is no mention of this in my mechanical procedures manual.
I am guessing that the O-ring goes around the copper oil tube that runs from the pan to the engine. My question, is where does the O-ring go? On the pan to block side or between the pan and the dipper tray?
All help appreciated.
Regards
Marvin

Slide it on to the tube after you've set the upper pan in place.0
