Brakes locked
I have had the 40 on jack stands while I worked on several things; not the brakes.
I took it off stands this morning to go for test drive and it feels like the emergency brake is still engaged. I put it in reverse to back out of garage and it felt very tight. When I depress the clutch it did not free wheel or roll at all. I probably did not move more than about four (4) feet. I then tried going forward and I got the same results. I reset the emergency brake and then released it and tried again. It still felt the same and the car would not roll.
I don't know how to check the emergency brake to see if it is released. I stepped on the brake pedal and it is hard, but I don't see how the brakes could have locked up while the car was on stands.
Any guidance is appreciated.
By-the-way, one of the things i did was remove the oil pan, clean the sump, repair the oil sump screen where it had torn loose. I stared the engine and let it warm up. I then checked the oil and it is so clean on the dipstick; makes me very happy to have gotten that taken care of.
Anyway, back to the brake problem, let me know what you think I should do.
