G'day All

Thanks

Further to my post above, I knew what I was thinking but perhaps I should clarify for everyone else's benefit !!
This is for a 34 Railton / Terraplane 8 cyl application.
I have no rear shocks and was having a custom set made to suit endurance rallying. My supplier tells me there will only be 150mm / 6 inches of travel and that does not seem right. Therefore, I would appreciate knowing what the stock dimensions are.
Thx
Phil

Thought I could help with this but only found the dimensions from my '34 Terraplane convertible FRONT shocks in file. My car has both original Monroe brand on the front and one of the rear (2nd replaced). IF Terraplane shared shock dimensions with Hudson chassis, at some point it may help you to know that the FRONTs are 10.25" compressed (closed) and 16.5 extended (open).
Message me if you don't receive any answer for your REARs and I could endeavor to remove and measure my one original rear.
One concern I had that you are likely aware of is the diameter of the pins the shocks are mounted on as they are not as large as newer mountings. On my FRONTs the upper pin is .435 diameter and the lower is .375 diam. thus requiring uncommon rubber bushings. I believe I sourced something usable for my car from Steele Rubber's catalog..
