what frame can be used for a 1952 hudson wasp?

The frame its got is ok right now, but would feel allot better having something better, so I haven't measured yet , but would Chevy, Ford or any of them work, and is it possible to have a full frame?

Why? I don't understand why you would go to that much work and expense if your Wasp has a solid subframe.
  • Its got some bad spots in the rear and here and there, would it be better to just cut out thebad spots and weld in new?
  • Just don't want to be cruising some day and the bad spot on the rear where to cause as problem and there goes the rear end

The Hudson frame can be repaired several ways. The cost in time and treasure to make a Hudson frame sound is less than trying to mount the body on another vehicle's frame. Go to my website and select the frame repair area. It will show you how to permanently fix any step down frame. hudsonrestoration1948-54.com/

I'm a Troglodyte I admit (pre-War Hudson, no knowledge of Step-Downs) but wasn't this an integral body-frame?  And thus, aren't you talking about a huge expenditure of time and money to carefully torch out the integral frame and then find one from another make and year that somehow matches it?  Seems like staggering odds against finding a match.

Yes, I'd think you need to simply patch the rotted parts with welded plates.  It's what a lot of people have done before you.  Maybe you can get lucky and find a solid frame from which to make a patch panel, from a donor car in Arizona.

Guy Spring (Bent Metal) on the forum and my son Rick at O'Dell Kustoms are both excellent metal fabricators. Both are in Southern California. Where are you located?
