Need front wheel bearing seal numbers 48/54

Looking back over the old info, I find that Timken # 471831 is the number given. I purchased several sets and
find them too small. The od of the old seal is 2.50 and the ID is 1.189
The Timken seal just falls into the hole. It's od is 2.44
Anyone have a good number?
Thanks!

  • After reading all this and becoming totally confused, what is the CORRECT number for a 1953 Hornet front spindle seal ????

Surely someone has a correct number for this most common part; if not this one, others might be extremely obscure.

    tks

Ken, how about I take the old info and put it on an Excell spreadsheet , I can put a column in with numbers and another with up to date known good to purchase numbers? I did look at the old info to start with but could not find a cross over number for those older numbers. The only thing I could find was the 471831 number by application.
