Welcome to the forum! I'm sure it will be a wealth of information for you in determining exactly what kind of Hudson you would like to own.0

Welcome to the forum, Wagooner. Do you have any particular Hudson in mind? Have you made contact with any Hudson owners or groups? Whereabouts are you?

I'm in central Kentucky about an hour south of Lexington. I saw some sort of Hudson meeting was taking place at pigeon forge and gave some consideration to driving down there just to look. I didn't want to infringe on an owners only type event though, so I stayed at home. While I really love the look of some of the Terraplane pickups and consider almost anything on wheels interesting what I really want is a 4 door step-down, preferably an earlier one. I really don't care about colors within reason, what I'm most concerned with is what's under the hood. I like everything to be as stock as possible. I'm dead set on the in-line six and I strongly prefer manual trans possibly with OD, but that's not absolutely necessary.

See Hudson Cars For Sale post. These are all cars needing restoration0

Wag,
My advice is not to pass up another opportunity to attend an HET function. I think I speak for most, if not all, HET Club people to say that you would not be turned away nor considered to be "infringing on an owners only event".......we just don't think that way. Anyone with an interest in vintage automobiles in general and especially Hudson-Essex-Terraplane cars and trucks would be welcomed as one of us and, of course, a potential new Club member. You will not find a warmer, friendlier or more helpful group of people in the auto enthusiast world.

I second what Frank wrote. Every one including the whole family, babies included are welcome. We are not a exclusive show car only club. I was made very welcome when I first started going to Hudson meets and it was probably 2 years before I found the Hudson I wanted. Being around the group makes it easier to find the Hudson you like.

Thanks guys, I'll take that under advisement. I've been giving those resto candidates a look. I check the classifieds at least once a day. You might say I'm a little bit obsessive. I was thinking of joining the "paying" club. It's my understanding that they send out a magazine which includes a lot of ads for cars that may never appear here. I don't want to pounce on the first car that strikes my fancy, but on the other hand I don't want to be Hudsonless this time a couple years from now. Thanks, by the way, for the warm welcome.0

Welcome Wagooner. Here is one that has just came available in my area.0

Sorry you missed Pigeon Forge. Generally, anything that is advertised like that, is open to all, and newbies are always welcomed. I would strongly urge joining the H-E-T, the magazine alone is worth the price of admission. http://www.hetclub.org/ Go to the Club's website and find the chapter(s) in your area, and contact the president or newsletter editor to see if there are any local meets still happening this year. (There's a map showing all the U.S. chapters and their boundaries.) Chapter membership is separate from National membership but usually only $10-15 more, and you get get to know a lot of nice people who can help you locate a car, and then offer expertise in working on it. Again, local groups are usually quite welcoming to potential members

Ditto.....you will find that the price of admission is one heck of a bargain. That will become very evident when your first full color, glossy edition arrives.
It is not a requirement that you own a Hudson built car, as is the case in some other clubs, and I think it's significant that club policy prohibits judging of cars/trucks. We may have car shows, but it's not a competition.

Warning Wagooner! When you'll get a Hudson, you will want a second, and a third... Michel
P.S. I don't know better guys that the ones on this site or in this HET Club. You are very much welcome!
