A modern 85W-140 oil will do. Fill until full.0

John Deere corn head grease is one and Studebaker International sells a steering box grease that is used in these boxes as well. Both are a "wet" type grease.

Seems to me that you would want something really heavy, since (in my experience) these steering boxes tend to leak oil. A heavier oil would be less likely to leak. I think I'm using some sort of Model A gear oil, maybe 600 W or something!

Jon, If you want to do yourself a favor use Corn Head grease. It works well .0
