Mounting the front seat tracks in a stepdown

Trying to get my front seat, which I have never been able to move before, to be adjustable. My most immediate issue was frozen wheels in the metal track, which are now free, But the rod with gears on either end that connects the driver and passenger side tracks is jamming the mechanism. It has a heck of a bend in it, but is this normal? It seems like it should have a slight bend to clear the crown of the floor. Also, I am wondering I have mismatched the spacers between the tracks and the floor pan. It looks as if the bar with two drilled holes goes beneath the front mount of each track and the individual round spacers beneath the rear mount. But that leaves me with an extra round spacer for each side.
Has anyone tried this lately and have a hint??

Ken: Thank you so much! These pictures tell the tale! Montana is a long way from Texas, but I wonder if that upholstery guy ever took a road trip. in addition to being immobile, my seat was bolt upright with spacers misplaced in a similar way. And my seat rod is quite seriously bent compared with the picture. My hypothesis is that someone was forcing the seat when the passengers side track wheels were glued to the side rails with hardened white grease mixed with corrosion.
Can't wait to reassemble this this afternoon. Thanks again. Peter S.

Thanks, Ken. Those pictures are great. I was just thinking about this the other day and decided I had the spacers incorrect on the seat on the convertible. I have the same problem, my seat back is too upright. Will fix this when it warms up a little. It will be a prime time to do some of the work I still need to finish up under the dash, as well.0
