Jon--back some time ago you were looking at the best deals on tires? Coker vs Diamondback vs others. Can I tap into your research results? What did you end up going with?...k

I was looking for a radial tire in the 600 x 16 size. I ended up going with Coker because (as far as I can recall) they had the only one...or at least the least expensive.
I had actually hoped to purchase the Diamondback because of their good reputation, and they listed a tire in my size, but kept delaying and delaying its introduction. Finally I could wait no longer because one or two of my tires was literally bald, and I bought the Cokers.

Fair enough. Sometimes convenience make the sell. I think you will be happy with the Cokers.0

I very recently bought Coker's 600 x 16R radials for my '34 Terraplane. It was the ONLY blackwall 600 x 16 radial tire and I had to have a blackwall and wanted radials. Due to recent installation and marginal weather, I've barely driven the car. The Coker tires were amazingly heavy in weight and I feel that in the first couple miles. They have to be a re-mold of some truck tire. Also there was mold shift causing rubber flash in the center tread and around the mounting lip. Cosmetically there were literally HUNDREDs of rubber injection molding "teats" all over the sidewalls and on the tread making the tires look like porcupines. I hand-picked every one off the sidewalls - must have taken half an hour per tire. The tread ones will wear off eventually. Yes, I installed new radial tubes and new gutter strips.
There were whitewall radials that I ran across in my search but I wanted black.
I had sworn off Cokers many years ago. Must have gotten soft in old age. NEVER AGAIN.

Nothing but good luck with Diamondback tires. Never used Coker.0

I have always bought my tires from Coker. Never have had a problem. Had the wide whites SBR for my Salt Flats Racer. Currently have them on my Essex (been at speeds of 85mph plus) and now have them on my 54 (the new tires that look like bias ply but are SBR). I have read of the problems but have never experienced any. The ones on the roadster pick up (17 inch) have just over 4,000 miles on them from last summers driving.0
