Need source or idea's for 36 Terraplane window mouldings
Hello I have a 36 Terraplane model 61 that I am in the process of putting all of the window mouldings in. I need to buy or make 2 mouldings. My front door glass does not have the disappearing vent window, it slides back 2 inches then down. Originally the window slid back into a U channel that was about 2 inches deep, I have not been able to find any U channel that is that big.
The second moulding I need is for the rear quarter windows that slide back. It has a moulding about 8-10 inches long and curved with the window and prevented the weather from coming in and to keep the window from rattling when slid back.
I have not found anyone that reproduces these but I am hoping someone out there has done this before and used a substitute or modified something.

I assume you mean the interior window garnish moldings that were usually woodgrained, and screwed to the inside of the window. The occasionally pop up on Ebay, like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1935-HUDSON-TERRAPLANE-INNER-GARNISH-TRIM-MOLDING-ORIGINAL-/221982663115?hash=item33af32a1cb:g:rrwAAOSwYIhWhc-C&vxp=mtr and you might also send dimensioned sketches of the moldings around to some of the vendors who advertise used Hudson parts in the WTN. No one is making repro's of these moldings but you still see them occasionally for sale, used.

Hi is your car a 4 door sedan, or 2 door ? Is it USA or Australian or European style? I've got the lead moldings for Aussie built terraplanes but they don't suit USA I think cheers ken0

Thanks for the replies. It is a 4 door and I have all the inside mouldings/ felt. The mouldings I need is for the front doors when the window slides back into its pocket there is a felt U-channel but it is about 2" deep. It is the same as the window run channel but larger. The other one is a felt for the rear quarter sliding windows when it slides back. It is an US car but I am in Canada0

I suggest you contact Victor Zamora in California, a Hudson guy who specializes in window channels for Hudsons. If he doesn't carry what you need, he may have some ideas on how to piece together a channel for the sliding front window, since that is a bit unusual (only used during the mid to late 1930's I think).
